Suzuki Gixxer Cup 2017
Indian Motorsports have a very non-linear history since the beginning of its inception in 1902. Back then, it was very popular because there were no governing bodies involved and, anyone with an automobile could participate in the event. It was all for pleasure and entertainment. People from all walks of life came to witness the madness of Motorsports. During those good old days, it was dangerous and because of lack of safety, people even used to die during the race events. In today’s India Motorsport has been portrayed as a dark sport. People have forgotten the golden glory days of Motorsports.

Some of the reasons for this are as follows:
·         Indians consider only a few careers to be a successful choice such as engineering and other white collars jobs
·         Parental pressure on selecting a particular profession
·         Lack of knowledge regarding careers in Motorsports
·         Job security is a concern in Indian families
·         Indians think motorsport is a mere hobby
·         Indians are generally more afraid of taking the risk in careers
·         Lack of media publicity regarding Motorsports
·         Lack of training centers for young talents in Motorsports
·         Lack of coordination with colleges and educational bodies
·         No strict laws regarding safe-conducts in motoring community in India
·         Defaming of Motorsports by untrained professionals on social media and hooliganism by youth
·         No major events covered by Indian Media
·         Expensive to pursue a career in Motorsports
·         Lack of local tracks and arena

Now Let's talk about off-road.

The off-road community is expanding at an increasing rate in India. This surging popularity of the sport in the Indian populace has forced automobile industries to focus on building purpose-oriented off-road vehicles. Along with this, they also promote their products by organizing different off-road events in India. It is very important for the Indian off-road enthusiastic to understand the basics and techniques of off-roading.

Mahindra offers so much for the off-roading community in terms of events in India. They also have their own training programs which they offer at “Mahindra Adventure Training Academy” in Igatpuri. We have a “Big Rock Motopark” in Bangalore. It is owned and operated by C.S. Santosh, one of the best off-roading riders in India. The park is a 45-acre mango Orchard at Kolar which is about 80 kilometres from Bangalore. The charges for training will be around INR 6000 including food and riding gears along with a motorcycle. The rider is provided with intermediate training sessions so that he can have a ride along on a purpose-built, multiple Motocross tracks which are made for riders with different level of experience.

Team-BHP is one of the pioneers in the Automotive forum. Here, you discuss a lot of details in regards to tracks, riders, places, technical specifications, user reviews, performance tuning, and modifications. They organize off roading Motorsport marshal training programs for anyone who is interested and wants to be involved in Motorsports. They are responsible for the safety of the organizer, rider as well as the spectators. Many things are to be considered and taken care of. This is why Team-BHP started this course in the first place. This is not a government funded organization but is on par with the International Standards and the training including medical safety.

We also have the British bike manufacturer, Triumph in India. They have started off with their own “Tiger Training Academy” and they allow owners of their “Tiger Series- Adventure Bikes” to participate in the training academy with discounted cost.
